Plans to build a multi-level carpark for Air New Zealand’s customers near Auckland International Airport has hit a roadblock.
The developer tasked with the development at 34 Airpark Drive had begun the project before it was placed in liquidation in late September when an unnamed investor pulled the pin.
“We understand that after investing an initial sum of money in the business the investor withdrew his financing support,” the liquidator’s report said.
“This left the company unable to continue the project.”
The developer had struck a deal with a contractor to build the carpark, which would be leased to an operator to service mostly Air New Zealand customers, the report said.
The airline had not confirmed whether any agreement was in place.
The developer had at least four creditors owed a total of $2.15 million.
Its sole director Timothy Symons and the liquidator did not comment further.
