Choice TV is running a series about the Dunedin wildlife hospital that caters for native NZ animals. Each week Newsroom will show an exclusive extra scene from last night’s episode.

Episode 2: Project Janszoon rangers collect kaka chicks from tree hollow

The Dunedin Wildlife Hospital is looking after a clutch of tiny kaka chicks, on behalf of Project Janszoon. But how did these wild babies come to be in human care? At the other end of the South Island, Project Janszoon scientists demonstrate just what it takes to find baby kaka.

Wildlife Rescue New Zealand follows the trials of injured animals as they’re rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild, whilst exploring the human journeys of those who dedicate their lives to safeguarding vulnerable wildlife.

Watch Wildlife Rescue NZ – Sundays, 7.30pm on Choice TV.
